Well if you updated java something went wrong, because you are 7 versions behind.
JRE version: 6.0_31-b05
Meaning you are using java 6.31
Java 6.38 is the latest Java 6.
But that's not really your problem.
You need to update your video drivers from the AMD website. You are using the microsoft provided drivers.
Microsoft strips OpenGL support before distributing graphics drivers.
It was really weird, everytime i went to install the catalyst drivers it showed that it was installing, but it went extremely quickly, but the driver version would not change. Tried to uninstall then reinstall, then got BSOD. Finally went into safe mode to uninstall the driver, rebooted, then rerun the uninstall just to make sure, then ran the install.
SUCCESS! the install took a good 3mins to finish. Reboot again, and everything was working the way it should!
I'm going to now try the same with java, as i had the same issue, where it would tell me it installed an update but no version change would occur.
Not sure if it has something to do with the laptop going into hibernate mode perhaps.
Cheers for your help!

Minecraft refuses to run after login.
I've updated the game, updated the drivers, updated java. Uninstalled and reinstalled all 3, to no avail.
this has been going on for nearly 12 months now and I havent been able to play minecraft for that long. It is extremely frustrating.
I'm hoping there is a simple fix for this, as paying for a game that doesnt work, kinda sucks. :/
this is the bug report:
