I recently updated a map I had on my old computer that was originally at beta 1.5 and once I did it worked fine on that computer. I copied the save file to a USB drive and transferred it to my new computer, but when I copied it gives an error that a file named r.-1.-1.mca is unreadable, so I have to press skip file in order for it to copy over. Once it does I try the world, and part of it is completely normal but it's as if my spawn area has been cut in half biome-wise and anything I had to one side has been deleted and replaced with taiga biome. Does anyone have an idea as to why it would work on my old computer but not on my new one? Any help is appreciated.
It could be that the file was corrupted when you copied it to the flash drive. Did you try copying the world again?
Another idea would be to get MCedit on the old computer and open the world in it, then use the repair regions function to see if there may be some corruption in the region files.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
