My minecraft lags so bad it makes me not want to continue to play(which i do, it is my drug). My fps steadies around 5-10 it is terribly bad. I have done the mod OptiFine and it has helped somewhat it has gotten me up to 20 fps sometimes and that is really good for me. I once was able to get 60 fps when i started Minecraft and now it's frames have just crashed i have no idea what has been going on. I will give you my computer's Specs here:

Those are probably the most needed things to be known. I would love for any tips as it to stop this insane lag.

I don't know what could be causing this. You say you have an i5 processor, which is a perfect core, 8Gigs of RAM, which again, is perfect.
Try allocating more RAM, toning the settings a bit... also, what graphics card are you using? That may be the root of the problem...

I am using a NVIDIA Graphics card and i have set it to best performance.

i have already been running on my graphics card by default and still laggy as a mug
