Hello. I'm here to ask about how I could go about fixing this lag, or if any of you know what would cause it. This happens on my vanilla client and the FTB Mindcrack client.
It's this weird type of lag, where my game slows down at odd intervals, then suddenly speeds up to normal speed. During this time I also get some huge sound lag where certain sounds play at heightened speed, over and over again. When the lag stops everything is back to normal.
The strange part about all of this is that it's not my render distance or texture pack resolution. I did a few tests, and my results were...
-It's not my render distance causing it; the lag happens at the same intervals and at the same intensity on Tiny, Short, Normal and even Far render distance.
-It's not my texture pack; I use Soartex Fanver (I believe it's 128x128 or so), and it happened at the same intervals and same intensity as it did for Tiny Pixels (an 8x8 texture pack).
-It is also not the mods installed in the FTB client or my vanilla client, because when I installed a fresh vanilla Minecraft, it did the same thing with no mods, and it also does it when I install Optifine. Same intervals and same intensity.
So I really do not know what is causing it. Could it be a RAM issue or CPU issue? Or is it something about my Java or something? If you guys need a dxdiag posted let me know, as I don't want to stretch the page too much.
Thanks!
