I deleted minecraft and its folders a few months ago. I installed it again yesterday, the .minecraft folder was empty and I can't login. The laucher opens fine, but it's grey and shows "Loading update news", and when I try to login it says it can't connect to minecraft.net.



The message appears instantly, nothing changes on the screen.


I tried downloading minecraft.jar with the last update and placing it in the folder, but it still doesn't work.

According to the mojang website the servers are fine.


I'm running Windows 7 and Java 7.

Thank you, but I've tried everything listed on there, and it still haven't worked. I don't know what the problem is, maybe it's Java.
