Mojang's previous SSL certificate expired today. A different certificate is in place today than yesterday.
Your stack track shows difficulty initializing the SSL engine.. so something about that switch appears to be affecting you.
I'm not sure if the new certificate is issued by the same Root CA as the old one.
If your certificate key store needs to be updated as a result of the change, then it could be a permissions issue of some kind.
I have not been able to login for a day. When I click the Login button, it instantly says "Can't connect to minecraft.net".
There are no other problems except with Minecraft.
Not running antivirus software. Not running firewall.
Mac OS X 10.6.3
Java 7
Minecraft 1.4.7

Help
Login servers may be down
They are not down. They certainly have not been down for 24 hours. The problem is something on my end.
