Ok so minecraft just crashed and when I got back on this tower that I had worked hard on was randomly gone except for a few ledges I had put on the sides. What the heck mojang how do you expect to sell a game where people build structures only to have them randomly glitch out and disappear? Is there some way to rollback my world to before this glitch occured?
It's in the .minecraft folder, in appdata/Application Support.
%APPDATA% in windows. ~/.minecraft on Linux and (I believe) OSX.
OP:
If this happens again I highly recommend reporting it either on this forums "support" forum, or to the bugtracker, with details of what you were doing and a crashlog. It can be of course frustrating to lose your work/data, which is basically what this is, but the more details they receive on this crash and the system configuration of people who are affected the faster they can come up with a fix. No software is free of bugs and the task of trying to remove as many of them as possible while also adding features is a monumental one, regardless of the phase of development.
Thanks guys, but I think I'm going to have to just rebuild my tower. There doesn't appear to be a minecraft folder on my mac or even an application support folder, which is really weird.
On a positive side.... my minecraft project for today consisted of building a house and treasury to hold all of my minecraft valuables (except for a few potion ingredients in my tower laboratory) and removing all of those valuables from chests in my tower. So.... I get to keep those diamonds... LOL.

Click your desktop so that the menu at the top reads: Finder File Edit View Go Window Help.
Click on "Go"
Click on "Go to folder..."
Type "~/Library"
Open the folder "Application Support"
Find the folder "minecraft"
Inside, you'll find ALL necessary folders and files. %appdata only works on a windows based machine.
