when i try to run java in the browser it says i need to update java to 1.7 u10, which is what i already have, i have enabled it through a registry cleaner and tried to uninstall and reinstall both java and minecraft many times. when i try to download and install java 1.7 through the minecraft site it gets most of the way done and quits responding. any ideas?
First, uninstall java entirely, it is possible to have multiple versions of java, so go to programs (I'm assuming you're using windows) and find any java installs you have, and uninstall them.
Restart your computer.
Now, go to start menu and type %APPDATA% and goto roaming ---> .minecraft and delete the 'bin' folder.
Install the latest java 7 and restart your computer.
Minecraft in your browser should work fine now (it depends on your browser, really.)

i tried it, but it still says i have to update my java, the only thing that didnt work out there was the bin folder, because it wasnt in the folder for minecraft, the folder was actually empty. but i have also deleted everything for the game and then i redownloaded it, so idk, im guessing thats why the bin folder wasnt there.

Remember, when you play minecraft in browser it really downloads it onto your computer.
Where are you downloading java?
