A. Is there a way to log into your Minecraft account from a different PC and have access to the worlds you already created on the original PC? In other words is your data only stored locally on your device or is it also stored online somewhere?
B. Is there a way for a user to log in with an existing Minecraft account on the SAME PC where they originally created worlds but use a DIFFERENT WINDOWS USER ACCOUNT and still have access to their previously created worlds? Apologies if I'm not using the correct terminology. My kids were sharing a paid Minecraft account on a new PC (Windows 8) and logging into the PC with my Windows administrator account. I have since set up their own Windows LOCAL user accounts for the PC and when logging onto the PC Minecraft needs to be reinstalled and they have to start from scratch, all their previous work is unavailable. Needless to say they're not happy with this new arrangment.
Would it make any difference if the Windows user account were MICROSOFT (online with an e-mail address) or LOCAL (no e-mail address, no sync of settings between devices).
Syfaro, thanks for the quick reply, where on the local drive do I find the "saves/world data" to copy and are there specific instructions on how this needs to be done? I looked in the program files folders on the C drive and saw nothing labeled Minecraft or Mojang.
OK I see a SAVES folder in (C)/Documents and Settings/(main user account)/Application Data/.Minecraft, is this what I need to copy? Just copy these folders into the Saves folder for the other accounts?
