I have been having this problem for a while now, and have only found one youtube video on the matter.
I live in new zealand so good, low ping servers are hard to find, therefore I go on US servers
The only problem is that block breaking is all messed up as shown in this video:
I was wondering if anyone could point me towards a fix for this
i live in NZ too, because of our distance to the US you are almost guaranteed to get high pings, what happens is that when you mine a block, it sends something to the server saying that you mined it, the server then sends something back telling the client to spawn an entity for the item and confirm the block deletion, what happens with high pings is that the client doesnt get the block delete information back from the server and assumes that something went wrong, making it re-appear, but after a short time it finally gets the data back from the server and deletes the block and spawns an item but just later than it should
I think it changed in 1.3 where they changed a lot of the server/client stuff, it used to be that the client would automaticly create a drop and delete the block and tell the server what it did, but now the server processes that as well as several other things, sure it is a bit annoying but its hard to avoid, making multiplayer games is very in-depth with all the networking and making it work smoothly(at least i assume), you could try reporting it to the mojang minecraft bug tracker
