My game and xbox freeze when i go through the portal and the message comes up "Entering The Nether". I have put a lot of work on this map and hate to lose the nether. I have tried sleeping, put out the potal and restarting, leaving to do something else and coming back and saving th game at a different location. Nothing is working. This happened to me before maybe a year ago and the similarities I can think of are 1- both portals were underground 2- a tamed dog was sitting a few blocks away and 3- i last saved the game before entereing the nether while near the portal. I wasn't transporting or anything just within two blocks of the portal.

Unfortunatley, It's hard to diagnose a problem on the xbox, since we can't test or look at error logs.
My suggestion is to see if you can enter the nether on another map, and if you can, then it's a problem with the save. if you can't, then it's a problem with your xbox, and i would reinstall mine craft, if that is even possible.
