I am having extremely low frame rate issues while running Minecraft on my current laptop. I've looked at my laptop's specs and it should be more than enough but while playing I can get an FPS of 10-15 with all graphical settings at minimum, fast, or off. I also have Optifine installed with MagicLauncher but it does not seem to have much of an effect.
I'm aware that integrated is terrible but it's what I have. It's in a laptop so there really isn't anything I can do on the hardware side other than replace the computer and I'm not that desperate. And besides that, I've tried allocating more of my computer's RAM through MagicLauncher and it hasn't helped.
The HD4000 graphics is the latest intel integrated graphics (last I knew) and should be able to run minecraft fine. Make sure you've updated your graphics drivers from either intel or your laptop manufacturer and also if you have a 64 bit OS make sure you have Java 64bit installed. You might also update lwjgl for good measure.
Maybe invest in what I hear they call external GPUs. And disconnect yourself from the internet so that there are no network-related processes gunking it up.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to improve my frame rate to something playable, i.e. 30 ish, it would be greatly appreciated.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
