I`ve tried to install Minecraft for a long time on this stupid Macbook Pro 13". Now that I finally figured it out, the game crashes right after login. When I log in, the window turns black for about 10 seconds and then it says that Minecraft has crashed. Java problem? If someone can carefully guide me through this, I will be forever grateful!
I have OS X and Java 7 update 11
I don`t know if this is the right place to post this, please move if it`s wrong

It might be because Macs aren't exactly made for playing.
Try opening the launcher, then click "Options" in the launcher (don't log in),click "Force Update",close the launcher,re-open it and log in.
Thanks, but unfortunately no luck... I got the same black window followed by a crash after the update
I Have a mac the best thing to do is update java and then reinstall minecraft then it should work!
Happy Mining!

I don`t know how things work on a mac, so i don`t know how to update java when I already have Java 7. But when I try to open the file I download from minecraft.net it says that the file is damaged and can not be opened. So I`ve tried launching the game from .jar. Maybe this is causing the crash?
Edit: BTW the "play in browser" option on minecraft.net does`t work either.
