I have sound, some music?

SO i finally took the plunge into Minecraft and....

I don't seem to have any music.

I do have sounds.

I have tried a few different options on the internet, and upon opening a new world, I get about 60 seconds of some nice ambient music and then NOTHING.

Thoughts?

The music turns on and off. It doesn't play over and over.

Yeah the music is ambient in nature. Tends to queue up toward dawn and dusk.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.

Before in alpha and earlie beta it used to play all the time, but now it plays randomly.
