I want to modify my game but I also want to play the vanilla version still. Is there a way I can have duplicates of the game on one PC. The directory of the game throws me off and I am not sure if its just as simple as copying and pasting the .Minecraft file. Maybe someone can clarify this for me?

I always wonder how youtubers like Paulsoresjr or Uberhaxornova can play both a modded and vanilla Minecraft on the same PC.

Use the magic launcher for example, i use it to change from snapshots to moddified to vanilla all the time.

Just copy your minecraft.jar in the bin forder in .minecraft and make a new configuration in the magic launcher with the copied jar to play that.

It also aids in easy ainstalling mods.
