Alright guys, so I recently bought a new computer (windows7), it ran minecraft perfectly at like, 300fps. Sounds and all, full settings, blah blah blah. I upgraded to windows8 and it still runs minecraft no problem, but there's no sounds apart from breaking and placing blocks. When I walk I hear nothing, I kill an animal, open a chest, fall from great height. No sounds not even button clicking in the main menu.
When I upgraded my OS, I needed to reinstall all my drivers, which I have done. Could anybody please tell me, or give me tips on what's happened. I play BF3 and DayZ perfect on highest at around 50fps. Sound is fully working. It just doesn't like minecraft.

Retired StaffDid you install 64 bit java for 64 bit windows, and 32 bit java for 32 bit windows?
For two, have you checked your sound settings?
