So, I've searched high and low and used my google fu to it's best ability- however this problem perplexes me.
Whenever I go to play minecraft in the browser, it simply stops loading at the end with the caption, "Done Loading".
On my searches, I've reinstalled java, installed 64 bit java, have deleted the cache, and have cleared the contents of the .minecraft folder from %appdata%. I really have no other ideas.
in so far as the client itself, when I go to log in, it tells me it can't connect to minecraft.net, and if I hit play offline the screen goes completely black.
I thought perhaps it was my desktop, since it's Windows 8- however it also happens on my mac, which I have boot camped with Windows 7 Ultimate. I attempted to play in Windows on my mac, and the EXACT same thing happened.
Yes, I own the game. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It cut off a ton, because it is so long, but it looks like you are using a special character in your windows username.
Something like ! or @ or # or Ä, etc you need to use standard alpha numeric characters.
Renaming the user account doesn't work, you'd need to create a new windows account.
Not your minecraft account name, the actual windows user account.
It looks like your user account is Milly with some characters after it that java doesn't like
Caused by: java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Users\Milly (The system cannot find
the file specified)
If there isn't anything in the user name, then you should uninstall java and reinstall.

Renaming the user account doesn't work, you'd need to create a new windows account.
Alternately, you could use multiMC and keep it's path out of the user directory.

in which case- of course it'll have the @ sign. It's an email.
But that doesn't explain about my mac- I used to be able to play it on there no problem.

Time to use MCM.

Retired StaffI don't know much about mac, but if you can get some sort of error log out of it, we may be able to help with that problem as well.
