My computer recently had a virus, and since removing it and installing the Avast! antivirus software here: http://www.avast.com/en-us/index , I havent been able to log in to the Minecraft launcher. I can log in to minecraft.net and mojang.com fine, but the launcher simply says "Login Failed, and gives me the option to try again or play offline. My Minecraft account is migrated to a Mojang account, and i've changed my email and password for mojang.com.
Please leave any tips or suggestions for how to solve this problem.
Thanks
I don't think i follow. Do you mean i should allow minecraft through the windows firewall? And yes, i use my email and password to log in.
You should allow Minecraft through Advast!. Check if it's already allowed. If it is, it could be your firewall being too strict or an error wiht it.
I had a problem with ZoneAlarm where it said Minecraft was allowed but it wasn't and even if you set it to "Ask", it wouln't ask you to allow or deny. All it needed was an update. So if it's saying that it's allowed and it isn't, wait for a firewall update, get something like ZoneAlarm, or decrease the strictness.
If you don't want to do any of the above, play offline.
