I decided to get back into minecraft today after a break of a couple months, only to find that minecraft will no longer run on my computer. I tried reinstalling, but I still get the following message when I try to run the game:
"The registry refers to a nonexistent Java Runtime Environment installation or the runtime is corrupted.
The system cannot find the path specified."
I also made sure to install the latest Java update, but that hasn't changed anything at all.
EDIT: After more research, I discovered it was the infamous 'Launch4j' issue. I actually managed to find a working fix to it, so I guess this thread is no longer needed.
Actually, it's probably a better idea to link to the resources that fixed your problem and add "SOLVED" to the tittle. If someone else has the same problem this thread could then provide an easy solution.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
