For weeks now everytime I tried to login with the launcher I would get the red text saying "Cannot connect to Minecraft.net" . I searched the interwebz high and low and tried everything that the various forums, youtube videos, help sites suggested. Nothing worked.
You know what fixed it?
Moving the Launcher from the Folder I had placed it into, back onto the Desktop. That's it. That's all. Worked like a charm.
Having the same issue? Try putting the launcher back on the desktop, worked for me!
