Oh boy, another one of the 'bad driver' problems. Basically I've tried to refrain from posting this since I know about a billion other people have had the same problem, but after trying to fix this problem all day I'm starting to get tired of searching for threads with this problem. SO:

When I first open MC up I get the normal log in screen. I hit log in and for about a millisecond it shows the loading screen before the window goes black. After a minute or two of the black screen this message shows up.

I'll bet you've seen people post this problem about 20x before. I tried to update my video card driver. Both of them said they were as up to date as they could be. I uninstalled Minecraft and reinstalled it. I also tried a MagicMinecraft thing that someone suggested in someone else's thread. I tried turning off and turning on my computer. None of these solutions worked.

The laptop I have is an HP and yesterday and the day before I had no problems running Minecraft. This is a brand new laptop and it came with Windows 8 on it already. The video card driver is an Intel HD 4000. There's something about Nvidia on here too, but it's got one of the yellow triangles with an exclamation point in it. My guess is that it's not working or something? If that's my problem there then PLEASE let me know. I am just so frustrated and fed up with the thought of finally getting the PC version of Minecraft and not being able to play it.

i think it's due to windows 8, as far as i know, Mojang has not updated Minecraft to Windows 8 video drivers. So... downgrade drivers to Windows 7, and test that

Agh, yeah, probably. Erm, just how do I downgrade? XD

i dunno, i myself am not a windows user (Linux for the win!) So... use google.

I called windows today and had them reinstall the AMD ATI graphic card or update it.. It took about an hour for them to control my computer from where they were.. I still can't get minecraft loaded- I log in and it says it's finished loading and then won't start at all
