I just recently did a clean install from Windows 7 to Windows 8 because my computer was plagued by the BSOD thanks to my mom. Minecraft worked fine before, when the computer worked, but since I've switched to Windows 8 I get the error. My video card is Open GL 2.0 supported.. Radeon HD3000.

Seriously, you posted the solution to your own problem. Go install new graphics drivers.

Then you need to learn how to file a better error report.

Which drivers have you installed? Are they certified or beta? Does your card have windows 8 support or are you trying to use windows 7 drivers?

If you want us to help you, tell us what we need to know.

And to answer your question, No, i dont think you've tried that. Go update to the latest Radeon drivers.

There isn't much more I can give you without you asking for more in-depth details... My video drivers are the latest I can get for the time being, until more are released... The drivers are certified. Whether they're Windows 8 supported I have no idea and I myself don't know how to check. So without being rude as you have been, could you tell me how to tell if they are?

@Kovu as I've said the drivers are up-to-date, but is that refering to the "options" piece in the .minecraft file?

After some screwing around, I've solved the problem, can this be deleted?
