I've seen a few posts on this and other sites about a bug I'm experiencing which prevents Minecraft from registering keyboard input (More specifically: For no apparent reason Minecraft ceases to respond to key presses a few seconds after opening a world). The only solution I've found is to cmd+tab to another app and back to the game, though a few seconds later the same thing happens again. I played Minecraft off and on for the past year until this issue started a week or so ago, and now the game is essentially unplayable. Deleting Minecraft and its associated files and reinstalling the game (with preserved save files) fixed the issue for a few days, but it came back today and no amount of reinstalling seems to fix it this time.
I've tried remapping the control keys in Options, I'm not running iBus, I updated the LWJGL to 2.8.4 and 2.8.5 and though both introduced severe lag and graphics issues neither fixed the issue, my keyboard works fine in all other apps, this affects both singleplayer and multiplayer, and mouse input is unaffected.
Versions
MacBook Pro 6,1
OSX 10.8.2
Java 1.6.0_37
Minecraft 1.4.6
Going to 2.8.3 fixed it, but made it laggy like 2.8.4 and 2.8.5 did. Forcing an update after that put it all to rights again, inexplicably the bug is gone (for now). I'll post here again if/when it happens again. Thanks :-)
