I was playing on a LAN server with a friend, and we started fighting. He was loosing, so he left the game. Unfortunately, the server was hosted on the computer he was using. I grabbed his keyboard and typed "/tp 100 1000000000000000 100". He got kicked for being in an "illegal stance". We went on to play different worlds. When he left I decided to work more on that world, but when I tried to open it, it still said "illegal position". I made sure I was logged in as myself, but it still didn't work. I cant get on the world at all, and have unsuccessfully tried many solutions that others have posted. Please help! It was one of my top ten maps!

Download NBTExplorer. Run it, and go into the world's level dat. Modify the "player" position to an acceptable value, and save the file. If there is a playerdata folder, too, then see which player is at an unacceptable height. Change that to the same value as you changed the pos to in level dat's player dat. Save it again, and you are good to go!
