Ok... so I bought the game and downloaded Minecraft (for mac) and every time I try to login the screen goes black for a moment and then it says Minecraft has crashed... and then it shows me this link:

That seems to be saying there is something wrong with the LWJGL files - try a force update from the launcher. That file should be in your Minecraft/bin install folder, you can check to be sure, it's called lwjgl_util.jar.
If a force update fails, you can go to the LWJGL page and download the file and manually place it into the Minecraft folder. Get it here:

You mentioned something about a Minecraft install folder, but all I receive when I re-download is the launcher... so there is nothing i can manually drag the lwjgl_util.jar into. Where would I find the install folder?

As far as I know, the mac install is similar to PC. When you run the launcher, it then downloads the game files to your hard drive, someplace close to the LWJGL files should be in the bin folder there.
Did you try a force update?
