So, I just bought Minecraft literally a week ago, and I have tried almost EVERYTHING to fix this dumb error that keeps occuring. If you have ANY suggestions I'm seriously willing to take them. I'm not really an expert with these types of problems, but it looks to me like an installation error, or you perhaps failed to install a mod or something (but seeing as you just purchased Minecraft, I'm going to guess the first one).
I would just recommend clicking 'Options' above login, then 'Force Update'. According to your specs, Minecraft should be able to run though. Again I'm not an expert, so sorry if this doesn't work, but it does work for most people.

Well, I've done this multiple times. I seriously appreciate that you try and help me out. But what happens is, I delete my .minecraft folder, and re-run it, and install it. But it crashes right as the download stops. But, when I go into my ".minecraft" folder, there is only the "bin" folder in there, as if nothing else downlaoded..

i know how you feel, im looking into it now, sorry that didn't work
1. Disable Norton, all of them
2. Delete App Data
3. Delete your minecraft.exe
4. keep norton off
5. redownload everything
6. see if it works
7. post then re enable norton.

I would just recommend clicking 'Options' above login, then 'Force Update'. According to your specs, Minecraft should be able to run though. Again I'm not an expert, so sorry if this doesn't work, but it does work for most people.
Well, I've done this multiple times. I seriously appreciate that you try and help me out. But what happens is, I delete my .minecraft folder, and re-run it, and install it. But it crashes right as the download stops. But, when I go into my ".minecraft" folder, there is only the "bin" folder in there, as if nothing else downlaoded..
i know how you feel, im looking into it now, sorry that didn't work
1. Disable Norton, all of them
2. Delete App Data
3. Delete your minecraft.exe
4. keep norton off
5. redownload everything
6. see if it works
7. post then re enable norton.
