Can someone please help us. We are new to this game. We have 4 more days of playing Demo World but we can't play it today which is only our 2nd day. It worked yesterday just fine then last night when we logged in and click play Demo World all we get is a white screen. Can someone please tell me why?
I was going to purchase the full version today for my son but I'm afraid to now because I don't know if it will work!! Very frustrating, please help!!

Usually for me the demo and all the versions of minecraft that you can play on the minecraft website give me a white screen.
But one day I downloaded it, dragged it out to my desktop, double clicked on it and it worked just fine. No lag or anything. If it continues with the white screen problem then just download it.

It may also be a problem with your computer. Minecraft was designed to run on 4GB of ram. If you have less than that in your computer then that may be part of the problem. You can buy 4GB ram modules on amazon for around $25. So the grand total will be around $50 to buy the game and the ram modules, but that may be the only way to get minecraft working.

I don't think I've ever bothered with the demo so I can't help you with that. However I can assure you that the full version works just fine other than the occasional login server downtime, which only affects multiplayer anyway.

I have not bought the game yet, it is the Demo play we are having trouble with. someone suggested to down load the demo world. how do I do that?

Yeah, I think that will work or maybe go to run or windows icon+r at the same time then delete .minecraft

I can't login to the launcher yet because I have not purchased the game yet. my problem is with the "DEMO WORLD".

To download it, just go to minecraft.net and click download. You should see it below steveYou dont have to login with an account for now, just press login then play offline

you shouldnt be playing the demo! Download it!

The exact same thing was happening on my computer, but when I bought and downloaded the game, it worked just fine, and I was using a pretty old Mac laptop.

I believe the issue is the Demo world lasts 7 Minecraft days, which is about 1 hour 40 minutes, so you'll either have to start a new world or buy the game (Suggested)

Nope. It runs on only 1 GB of RAM so 2 GB is fine. In fact 4 GB won't change anything unless you increase the allocation of RAM to Minecraft.

Also, you need a paid account to play anything other than the demo or 0.30 creative version... you can't just download the game and run it.
