Today I had learned to how to create texture packs and was testing one I created myself (I hope thats not considered modding or I'm in the wrong section). My texture appeared to work, but then I discovered I could not pause and exit the game. Now my first thought was that my esc key somehow mysteriously broke, but that isn't the case as I already tested it by using it to exit fullscreen on youtube. So then I just deleted the bin file and updated Minecraft, still no luck. After that I used MCpatcher in case my texture somehow screwed up the game, but I doubt it. Surely enough that failed as well and currently I can only pause the game when I use ctrl-alt-delete. I have Windows 8 if thats relevant. Any ideas?

Close your image editing software. A lot of them tend to capture the Esc key whether they're in focus or not.

You were right, I would have never thought of that and I rarely close photoshop so who knows how long it would have been until I figured it out. Thank you very much!
