Alright, so I started playing Minecraft again a few weeks ago, and I've run into a pretty annoying problem. Essentially, the Java.exe works its way up to over 1mil K memory usage and the game basically becomes unplayable. I've tried reinstalling Java and Minecraft, but with no success. I've also tried both the downloadable client and the in-game browser to see if that made any difference.
I doubt its my hardware considering I play TONS of other games including Battlefield 3, Skyrim, LoL, Civ 5, and etc.
If any more information is needed plz let me know =)
Have you tried uninstalling java from in the control panel, and then reinstalling fresh? There maybe more then 1 version installed and removing all of them will help.

Retired StaffAlso make sure you are using 64 bit java.
Using the offline installer is the easiest method found here: http://www.java.com/...load/manual.jsp
