I recently got a new laptop(some sort of Lenovo with a core i3 and 4GB of ram) and I keep running out of memory and crashing. I downloaded MC Patcher to fix it, but that didn't make a dent. I unpatched my jar, but it's still going strong. It's weird... Block will be the wrong colors(like a magnetized tv), textures will appear in the wrong places, and even the start screen will mess up. I can't find anything with the same problem. I would post the crash report, but it doesn't show up...
Any ideas?

This is likely a Windows 8 related issue. When does it seem to crash? Does it crash when trying to open an existing world or mid session or what? Did your GPU have an official Windows 8 driver with OpenGL support or did you force an install of a Win7 driver? If you're running a Windows 8 driver you might try forcing Win8 to run a Win7 driver for your GPU and see if your issue is resolved. There is a tutorial here for that: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1614295-fixwindows-8-open-gl/

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
