i have been playing mc for a long time now and i have never had this type of issue when ever i try and play on a online server it takes ages to load up the chuncks and chat and all then about 30 sec after i log in it logs me out and it says:
what the hell does this mean?????
methods i have tried to fix the problem are...
1.updating java (64 bit)
2.using wifi as well as ethernet cable
3. changing router settings
4.trying magic launcher
5.trying on different computer
6.deleted .minecraft from roaming folder and redownloading it
7.i have reasearched the web countless times but nothing helps
if this helps i have a w7 dell laptop, my internet is at its best speed and a few days before this happened
i had massive lag issues whenever i logged in i spawned 2 blocks below from where i was when i logged out
then i would wait like 40sec for all the stats and chat to load then i would have massive lags spikes and nothing would load.
For thos who don't know there used to be a problem in minecraft for people with atheros network adapters, where when placing blocks or mining there would be a discrepancy between the sent and recieved info and the minecraft would give either the socket, recieve, or other errors. The problem mainly happens when eithe rmining or placing blocks. I personally just started getting the same problem, but only after updating to 1.4.6, so im wondering if something caused this problem to come back. Just to check, go to your hardware mamager and see if your using a atheros or raeltek network adapted.
is it ok if i download the free version of mban? i dont really feel safe without firewall
Ok, it's fine. Remember to turn on firewall and make sure that all of the online sites and games (except malicious ones) are allowed by the MBAM firewall.

sorry i dont know a lot about computers whats the hardware mamager and what would i want to be using out of atheros and raeltek and if i am using the wrong one how would i change it?
That error is given because the other end (server) terminated your socket connection because it took too long for them to receive packets your client sent. This is commonly due to a bad connection with the server.
Your firewall or anti-virus may also cause this problem too.
On a personal opinion, I recommend you not use AVG as an Anti-Virus solution. AVG is notorious at reducing PC performance. Find (or buy) a better alternative.

mkay thanks but AVG is very good at picking up trojans and and stuff like that what would be a good replacement for picking up stuff like that automaticly?also if it helps i play on a hungergames server and that has no problems like the heros server does for me which is strange what im saying is out of all the servers ive played this server gives me the problems so my comp can play mc but can handle hero craft which is strange + it seems im the only one on the server with these problems and i have to computers ive tried this on and they both seem to do the same thing work on hunger games and not herocrafft does that mean my internet is at fault?

I don't have an alternative that I could recommend personally, but Norton or Kaspersky have very good reputations.
In my life I've used AVG on many computers, and I understand its appeal since it's well known and free, but overtime AVG utterly destroyed those very same computers. It has also let Malware from websites slip by for me. I currently use Avast and I haven't had a problem in 4 years since.

I have the chat and action delays but the socketexception disconnect is rarer. Still happens though.
I've tried letting java and minecraft.exe through the windows firewall to no avail :/
