Wanting to play 1.4.5, Java exception has occured.

I just bought minecraft last night, I downloaded it and it updated fine, but then I realized that my buddies that i play with play on 1.4.5 not 1.4.6.

They told me to go here http://www.mojang.com/2012/11/minecraft-1-4-5-pre-release/ and download the jar.
So I did and when i click on it, it says "A Java Exception has occured".

I've reinstalled java and redownloaded the .jar file. I'm kind of just at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
