hi when i play minecraft on my new laptop it will suddenly stop working and say

minecraft has run out of memory and nedds more memory devoted to java or something like that

if you know how to fix it please help!!!

Backup your minecraft files and remove them from the appdata location, assuming you're on windows since you failed to mention your OS, and then redownload and run minecraft. If it works, its one of your mods and/or a texture pack maxing out your memory load OR its a java problem OR something more technical. But do what I stated first.

um i just want to give my java more memory since that is what it sugjested know how to do that?
