so when 1.4.6 came out, i found that i could not update to it. it would give me some error message (i cant remember it now, unfortunately. in retrospect i shouldve taken a screenshot or something >.>) when i tried.

so i played in 1.4.5 for a while, and eventually got fed up and tried again, with the same result. so, i backed up my maps and uninstalled/reinstalled minecraft. now im stuck at the "downloading packages" screen right after you login.

anybody have any ideas as to whats causing this, or any ideas to fix?

no dice, still locking up at the Downloading Packages screen.

also: i got that one error message again. "Fatal error occured (4): Address family not supported by protocol family: connect"

tried it, still getting the error. :/

i tried both the program that guy made to fix it, and the manual method, and still nothing. just fatal error occured (4) over and over again.
