Hi. I was playing Redpower 2 pre 6 (1.4.6) and noticed the little 'pop' sound when you pick up drops was missing. Today, I decided that since the Redstone Update is coming, that I wanted to start playing Vanilla. I deleted .minecraft, and reinstalled it. Now, the only sound I have is placing and destroying blocks. Creepers, chest, redstone, levers, EVERYTHING else, doesn't have sound. I deleted the .minecraft again, and will reinstall again, to see. But I dunno...... this is really annoying. (yes, I have sounds at 100, and yes, I have my volume up.)
PS, I am on a Mac 10.8.
Thanks a lot

Thanks. I tried deleting the resource folder, and whenever I restarted Minecraft, and exited to check the folder, the only file it had for sounds were "caves" and that was it. Nothing else. I will reinstall Minecraft and post results.

Some antivirus software can block the sound download. Sounds download while playing the game. Try temporarily disabling your AV for 5-10 minutes while playing and see if that fixes the problem.

thanks. I shall try. (also heard that just letting it sit there in a ssp world for a while will download everything and slowly let all the sounds work...)
