So I haven't played minecraft in quite some time. downloaded the client and clicked login, but I can't..
i can only select play offline.

I did a ping minecraft.net and only got a time out.
tracert minecraft.net left my ISP and stopped at 205.251.245.55 (line 13) before timing out
tried disably anti virus/firewall and all that jazz.
any help/suggestions?
please note I can login to the minecraft website.

yeah there is an issue with the log in servers we are going to have to be patient till they fix it...

for some reason i've always had an issue pinging minecraft.net, never found out why though.

but the reason your client can't connect is due to a login server outage, please look at pinned threads before posting this type of issue
