Whenever I try to turn my music/sound up a bit, it freezes and i have to use task manager to close it. I have tried updating my drivers, redownloading minecraft, trying the browser version, trying that "F3 + S" thing, and nearly every single idea ive found on the "Legacy Support" topic.
I've tried renaming OpenAL32.dll into OpenAL32.dll.old and that seemed to allow me to move the slider around except when i opened up volume mixer, it popped up "Windows Sounds", "Speakers", and "Name Not Avaliable"
When I click on the Windows sounds option, it makes a sound as well as the Speakers option does too, but when I try "Name Not Avaliable" it makes no sound at all!
Also when I tried to rename the OpenAL32.dll solution option, it had a link to a website that allowed me to redownload the OpenAL32.dll or told me to find an OpenAL32.dll on my System32 folder and copy that one into my .minecraft folder, except that one doesnt exit on my System32 folder and when i went on the website to download the OpenAL32.dll file, it never existed.
All the topics I found were near late Alpha and early Beta version of minecraft and couldn't find one at all containing near 1.4.6 or any update close to that. I've had the problem since beta 1.2 (I think) and tried finding some troubleshooting help but couldn't find any at the time.
Its been really bugging me since I've considered making youtube series about it but couldn't because I need sound/music in my video and need to hear when a creeper/zombie approaches me from behind. Its also bugging me since I play MineZ alot and not able to hear when a player approaches or a zombie is chasing behind me or something like that.
My computer is a Windows Vista computer 32-bit and my 32-bit java is up-to-date as well as all my audio and graphic drivers.
Please help if you can! Thanks! Its been extremely frustrating to find no answers to the problems I've been facing!
