I tried to play on the demo. And received a weird picture. So I tried to re-install Java, and nothing happened, I am still getting this picture. Also, I would like to know if I were to purchase minecraft, if it would still be doing this.
Find your graphics card, if you aren't that sure on finding it, an example is below.
Lets say I have NVIDIA Geforce GTX 465
Step 1. I'd visit the NVIDIA link
Step 2. I would select the following
Geforce
Geforce 400 Series
Geforce GTX 465
Windows 7 64-bit (If you are unsure, click System in the Dxdiag look at "Operating System")
English.
I would then click search, and download the driver it gave me
After that is finished installing, try a reboot on your pc, and see if it works.

Still not working? Try deleting the minecraft demos files. I'm not sure where it stores them, however you may want to check here
Go to your start bar and type "%AppData%" without the quotations. Then look for .minecraft or something like that, it is .minecraft for the full game.
Delete the folder, (this will remove any saves, if you want to keep them, open the folder delete everything in there but "saves"
Try redownloading the demo after those files have been deleted.
Here are two pictures:

I was able to play it before. Not sure what the issue can be.
Sorry im not great with computers. How do i get to the GPU?
Edit: I'm about to go to sleep, so I won't be responding for awhile, however try the following
Updating your video drivers
You can see which video card you have by looking at the "Name" mentioned before.
If it is NVIDIA, go here http://www.nvidia.co...aspx?lang=en-us
If it is AMD, go here http://support.amd.c...ages/index.aspx

Hopefully one of those will work.
