1.4.6 No Sound? Please Help!

When i installed 1.4.6 today i found the resources folder was empty. I deleted it and re downloaded, no content in the resources folder! I don't know why this is happening. Could it be possible to download the 1.4.6 resources folder anywhere? Please help!

Try deleting the whole Minecraft folder in %appdata%. After backing up world saves, screenshots etc.

Then download it again from the Minecraft site.

That didn't work, The resources folder does not download any content at all.
