It seems like HP seriously hates Minecraft. The Windows 7 HP would not allow Minecraft to play either, so I just did a clean install hoping that all the crap they give you was messing it up. I really do not want to have to go through this hassle again and was hoping if there was a way to fix Unable to connect to minecraft.net. I uninstalled Norton, turned off the Firewall, allowed Minecraft for the Firewall, and made sure the router had no new changes. I also got an error once from trying to play in the browser, it was something like unil.java.*something* (home user...) then it cut out.
I do not know if its an HP thing or what, just hope you guys can give me a suggestion.
