I just opened Minecraft and without thinking agreed to the update. As it turns out none of the servers I play on are upgrading to 1.4.6 so I need to know how/where to revert to 1.4.5 client so I can actually play the game. I AM NOT willing to simply wait for server admins to update their servers/plugins, so suggesting that I do is not helpful.
It is rediculous that the previous version of the jar file is not left available on minecraft.net immediately following a patch like this. I should not have to install sketchy programs on my computer just to play the game. It takes way too long for multiplayer servers to catch up with new patches. I am shocked this is still such an issue after the game has been out for so many years. What I really want is someone to tell me where I can illegally download the 1.4.5 jar file because, really, older versions of the jar should be available from Mojang, and it's just plain rediculous that they aren't.

If it was sketchy, it wouldn't be on the minecraft forums, and people would say it was sketchy in the comments. You posted on here asking for support, and i gave you it.
If you use magic launcher, you can control when you update, like me.
MCnostalgia, or do what I do: whenever there is an update, SAVE your previous minecraft.jar in a separate folder, labeled by version number. Then download the latest. This way if you have to roll back, you can do so legally. I've had to do that a few times when a mod or texpack wasn't updated to the latest version yet.

ModeratorYou will not get a link to an illegal download as that would be promoting piracy which is against the rules here.
