My son has been playing the demo version for awhile now. With his recent good grades, I have purchased the full version for him. I have a Mac running Lion. I logged in after purchase and tried the Download Now button for Minecraft Mac OSX resulting in the following message "Minecraft is damaged. You should move it to trash. When I attempt to play in browser i get the error report below. I have tried deleting the minecraft file and reattempting with no luck. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Did you make sure you installed it correctly? Sometimes people have errors using a certain archiver or something(I don't own a Mac.)
Make sure you did, by checking here.
Mac OS X
Open a Finder window
Click the Go Menu item and Click Go to Folder
Type ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft into the text field and click Go
Drag the saves folder to your desktop
Drag everything else in the minecraft folder to the trash
Drag the saves folder back into the minecraft folder
Close the Finder window and launch the Minecraft App just like you would normally.
Hope this helps! And congrats to the son for good grades!
After a bit more research, it appears that the settings were in my Macs Gatekeeper settings. A few changes and it appears to be working.
Issue: Apple OS X says that Minecraft is damaged or could not be opened Description: On Apple OS X Mountain Lion (10.8), the error ""Minecraft" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the trash. " This is caused by Apple's Gatekeeper software. Solution: In System Preferences, select Security & Privacy and click the lock icon that reads "Click the lock to make changes.". Then set "Allow applications downloaded from: 'Mac App Store and identified developers'" to "Anywhere". Start Minecraft.app. Once running, if you'd like, you may reset Gatekeeper to "Mac App Store and identified developers". Alternatively, you can right-click Minecraft.app and select "Open". You'll be presented with a confirmation dialog. You only have to do this once; afterwards you'll be able to double-click and run Minecraft.app without the above steps.
