Making another topic here since I've discovered this is also a vanilla minecraft problem:
Basically I copy my world to and from 2 PCs, one is far faster than mine and handles multiplayer better but my friend does not play all the time so most of the time I am playing on my own PC.
Each time I copy the save accross my friend will lose his inventory and be stuck with a duplicate of mine which is highly annoying for us both. No real way to get it back besides running the server on my machine which is quite laggy for me.... (Upgrade coming soon hopefully :P)
To replicate:
- Download fresh new 1.4.5 vanilla copy
- Created a new world and get anything in your inventory ( Example 3 dirt, 1 mushroom and 1 wood)
- Copy world to another PC with vanilla and login with another account
- Open world and inventory will be the same as the first users
