Hi so i downloaded the standard minecraft today on my new acer laptop with i7 core, 10gb ram and nvidea 640m graphics card. i logged on with existing account and created new word and all seemed fine. it was only until i ran around for a few seconds that this happened!
It flickers around like this constantly and is unplayable. its a very capable laptop and all drivers are up to date. Please help!!!
I believe ramo486 is asking if you have turned on Advanced openGL in the video options in minecraft. If so try turning it off (which I'm pretty sure is the default) and see if your issue goes away.
You say the laptop is new. Is it Windows 7 or Windows 8?
If you find a solution to this please post back here because I've seen people with what looks like the same issue but we couldn't find a solution.
Yeah thanks for the feedback. it is a new laptop and is running windows 8. i've tried paying with all the video settings within the game including openGL. I'll now try looking into the nvidea control panel.

This is most likely a windows 8 driver issue. Was this a native windows 8 driver for your GPU that Nvidia has? I see a 64bit win8 version here: http://www.geforce.c...s/results/54629
One possible solution would be to force an install of a windows 7 driver for your GPU.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
