Running on Dell Optiplex 745 (Windows XP 32-bit Professional. Getting the typical "Bad video card drivers" error for OpenGL. Have read into all of the solutions IE update drivers, try running minecraft as a .jar with different memory settings, etc.
- Driver = Intel Q965/963 Express Chipset Family
See below.
-------
No it's not the drivers (have tried the newest, next to newest, next to next to newest, etc. going back 3 years all with the same result).
No it's not memory, have tried with additional memory, increasing virutal memory, launching minecraft with different memory settings
No it's not the version of java, have tried most updated, to a couple versions back, etc.
Running with "lower" hard-ware acceleration is not an option, see below.
It DOES work if the anti-virus agent is uninstalled completely (Panda Anti-virus Enterprise) -- also not an option as a permanent solution.
--------
Situation/reason the above are not options for a fix:
- This is for a computer lab (identical desktops) at a school district -- "minecraft club"
- This Anti-virus is required, cannot be uninstalled
- Cannot turn down hard-ware acceleration for use of other applications
It DOES work flawlessly on windows 7 on the same box (same hardware exactly). This bring it to be the windows xp version of the driver once again as the main problem (something conflicting with the anti-virus and xp driver for some reason), but again I have tried every single version of the driver available with no success.
(No cannot upgrade all of them to windows 7, just did to one of them as a test)
So my question for anyone here that might have an answer is... what's your answer? :-)
Open to try any new suggestions, just as it goes currently I have tried everything I could find out there.
Bad video card drivers!
-----------------------
Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

sorry, cannot run these as a "lower" hard-ware acceleration is not an option (effects other applications)
any other suggestions?
