My son plays Minecraft, and his chat and command buttons are not working. I'm trying to help him resolve the issue, but since I don't play Minecraft myself, I'm not really sure what all to look for. He thinks the problem started when he downloaded a new version, so we got MVC and tried a few older versions, but that didn't make any difference. He says he hasn't installed any mods, which is why I'm putting the question in this forum. Any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Using version 1.6.4. We just downloaded this last week and the command key is not working. My son plays this and I am not very familiar with it. I tried changing it to a different key and that did not work. I found this tip but I cannot even find the minecraft folder to delete the options.txt file. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thank you.

Try going into Options, Multiplayer Settings and changing "Chat" to Shown.

So, I have a issue very similar to the question earlier asked, But my version is Windows 10, and when i am on servers the chat does not show up. So i tried turning hide of but it keeps turning hide on by itself, so i really want to know how to get my chat show up. PS. My chat is not showing up either.
