When I launch minecraft I get a Launch4j window saying "The registry refers to a nonexistent Java Runtime Environment installation or the runtime is corrupt. The system cannot find path specified."
I realize there already is a post about this error (http://www.minecraft...me-environment/) however it seems all they came up with is go to control panel and uninstall everything related to java and install it again. I did this a couple times but it doesn't work and I'm getting the same error. According the the java tester (http://www.java.com/...ad/testjava.jsp) I have the newest version of java and its working properly. Do you guys know of any other fixes?
Are you getting Java from the actual Java site? If so, I don't think they have Java Runtime Environment 1.5.0 anymore. I'm not sure, all I found was a random Java download. I believe it's the latest.

Yeah I'm downloading from the java website. Java 7 update 9. Minecraft worked on this version before.
I have similar trouble with launching Minecraft on this computer as well, especially with the Java Runtime Environment 1.5.0 and have deleted and RE-installed all java 2x... tempted to find the file needed and copy and rename the copy 1.5.0. This was a simple fix to a similar problem my mom's pc had with her screensavers won from Pogo. And the quick fix method worked just fine. Anyone have a suggestion for that?
How about helping with this error message every time I attempt to run the launcher/installer and I haven't even completely installed the Minecraft game, yet, either... Cannot Run Java Virtual Machine or something of the sort. Any xifes for this? I have re-installed JV again... no avail...
I've been up, down, and all around the net for a total of 2 days straight (about 8 cumulative hours) trying multiple fixes and such..... Have any of y'all had any luck? This is truly depressing, frustrating, and downright maddening.....
Start -> Run -> regedit then Computer\HKEY_LOOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment
I fixed this problem through trial and error and although it may sound wrong you should delete the JAVASOFT folder from your registry and then just run minecraft it worked for me.
That sounds about right. To fix it I ran some registry repair bull crap. Pretty sure it came with a virus.
Hey guys this post really helped out alot I've been having the problem for about a week now with tons of different errors and finally found my solution on this post. Thanks alot everyone

Program Files (x86) is for 32bit Java.
To get Java into Program Files (properly) you have to get the 64bit installer.
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
Download the 32-bit if you got that and 64-bit if you got that
That helped me !
