hey guys the issue im having is that i log in, open minecraft, evreything works fine but after about 5 - 10 mins of playing my laptop screen goes black and i have to restart me laptop and then open minecraft again. This happens during single player. I have tried re-installing minecraft, deleting bin, allocating more memory, and uninstalling java and re-installing the correct java. Any other suggestions/solutions?

-4.0 GB RAM
-64 bit operating system
Thanks, yes it is most likely is an overheating problem then because sometimes my laptop over heats and actually shuts down while watching movies, etc. I have a usb cooling pad plugged in but it doesnt help much... is there anything else i can do internally to fix this problem?

First of all, Windows Vista isn't the best operating system. No, there's nothing that you can do internally to fix it. If it's overheating (on a laptop), you might hear like a high pitched clicking sound or just everything will power off. Are your fans working before your laptop shuts down?

Try playing in a not full screen window, with a temperature gauge program open (if your laptop supports it) it might help seeing if high temperatures are the cause of the problem.
