Hi all
Just asking to see whether anyone would know a fix to this problem. I have just bought a high end new computer and i installed 64bit java. I opened minecraft installed it aswell and when i click on the menus theres normally a sound and thats not there anymore. I go into the world and occasionally the sound works for when i hit a mob. There are no walking sounds, only breaking sounds. So this is very annoying and i would like it to be resolved, i have tried reinstalling java, installing it again, installing minecraft again and f3 + S

And also all the item sounds dont work. Eg doors, trapdoors, enchanting bottles even xp

With Minecraft off, try going into the .minecraft install folder and delete the resources folder. Then in the login screen don't login but go into the options button and do a force update. Then login and see if the game downloads the sounds. The sounds aren't installed when the game is, they are loaded dynamically once you login, so it can take a little bit for the sounds to load the first time you login after a fresh install.
