I have had Minecraft for a while now and lately it has been really annoying. It has really random lag spikes disabling me from playing online as I am likely to lose pvp battles and other stuff blah blah blah :/ I normally run 60-70 fps smoothly and after the latest update it has been 120 fps then down to 20 or 30 fps, making the game SEEM extremely laggy. I have tried reducing video settings and it seems to work for about 2 seconds. Minecraft is my downright most favorite game and i refuse to give up trying to fix it. My Minecraft is completely clean. I have tried the following
Deleting all of minecraft then redownloading.
Turning video settings down really low.
Ripping my hair out.
Not using my cpu for a while for it to cool down(4 or 5 hours).
Closing all background windows so Minecraft is the only thing running.
Trying to deal with it (trying this was extremely rage inducing as well as frustrating (same thing???))
Smashing my head.
Putting very high priority on task manager.
Getting newest version of java as well as going back to the old version I had.
There is probably more I've tried that I haven't mentioned.
I'm not smart with computers. I just get a computer and hope it works O.o So please don't ask about RAM and stuff because honestly just saying RAM confuses me.
If you haz solution or perhaps some advice *cough on how to kill myself cough* on how to solve this rather frustrating issue, I beg you to share this with me. Practically everything I do lasts a couple of seconds, LITERALLY, then just gets all poopy again. Also sometimes Minecraft will run completely fine. I tend to not give up, so I open and close Minecraft. Somtimes this ends in me wanting to die, and very rarely has me wondering why Minecraft is regular again.
I may have a similar issue that has caused me similar turmoil. I have the Optifine mod in order to try to fix the problem (it doesn't work for long). Does my lagometer (the bars on the bottom left) demonstrate your problem as well?

I am not seeing this. I have before and it used to really annoy me. So, because I am who I am, I started mashing buttons hoping it would go away.... it did in fact go away and now I have no clue how to get it back :/

Although yes I am sure that replicates what I am going through.
you know there is a "edit-button" right? on these forums, not in the game.
try this out, it works on my laptop, when the program is running just turn on game boost. (It should help if you just understand how to use it)
Thank you for this but I'm not too keen on downloading as I've been hacked before and my life was nearly someone elses life. I run security checks practically every hour :/ Thanks anyway! (sorry i had no idea how to end this msg so I just said that lol)
Gamebooster didn't solve my problem. I will also add that it is not a hardware issue as I have friends with identical specs and can run Minecraft fine without any optimizers or changing any default settings. I have run scans with AVG and Malwarebytes so it shouldn't be a virus. Any other suggestions?

Just have to love it when someone changes the specs when comparing with and without optifine..
